Toilet Chemical Fluids

As the park is in the countryside we do not have mains drainage but rely on a septic tank system. Consequently, our Toilet Chemical Disposal discharges into this tank. For the tank to work efficiently and not to pollute the soakaway only biological fluids such as Fenwicks Top and Tail or Biomagic can be used. Any fluids used must not contain Formaldehyde or any other chemicals that would kill the septic tank ‘good’ bacteria.

If you have any doubt about the suitability of your fluid do not put it in your cassette until you have checked with us. We have the proper fluid (Fenwicks Top and Tail ) available here in single doses or 2.5ltr  for £10 if you are wanting to go really Green.

Our Dark Sky

Whilst we have our own ‘dark sky’ above  our park only 15 miles away is the world’s first large public use observatory within a gold tier Dark Sky Park at Craigengillan Estate, Dalmellington. Its location, on the edge of the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park, set up in 2009 by Forestry Commission Scotland, means that it enjoys some of the darkest skies in the world; the park itself being one of only ten in the world to be recognised by the International Dark-sky Association. Countless stars, the Milky Way, shooting stars, planets, comets and the Northern Lights are all visible from the area.   The new observatory will provide a spectacular opportunity to view and appreciate the night sky through state-of-the art telescopes and imaging equipment.
